Week Three

Adelyn is 3 weeks old (June 1)! We went to the pediatrician on Tuesday for her 2 week checkup and she weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces. She is in the 98th percentile for length, 86th percentile for weight, and 13th percentile for head circumference. She's definitely a growing girl!

She is holding her head up better. She is still sleeping 5-7 hours each night, which is wonderful for us! I joke that she moved around in the womb so much that she's making up for it. She sleeps all day!

We have had more visitors this week. We enjoy the company and we're appreciative of the thoughtful gestures!

Inez loved holding her!

Jackie brought Griffin over (5 months old) and we went for a nice, long walk
Mark and Cassie brought us lasagna for dinner. It was delicious!

Bryna and Carson came to visit Adelyn

Bryna is due at the end of August. All my cousins are having babies! My grandmother is getting 4 great-grandchildren in a 7 month time frame!

Riley had a 3/4 pound fatty tumor (benign, thank goodness) removed this week. We are relieved that is wasn't more serious!

Week Two

Adelyn is growing so fast! I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks. She went to her 10 day checkup and was 9 pounds....already past her birth weight. She is a great eater! She has been sleeping through the night since Thursday (5/21). We'll see if this continues. She'll sleep anywhere from 6 to 7 1/2 hours. We are very pleased with that! She is such a good baby. I am probably going to jinx myself by posting that statement!

She is learning to hold her head up a little better, but it still bobbles around. Seth and I go for a walk on Fast Lane everyday. It's great for my recovery and Adelyn seems to really like being outdoors.

We've had visitors, meals brought to us, prayers, and phone calls. We are very thankful and blessed to have such great family and friends! Being new parents is a tough job and our thoughtful friends and family make it a little easier!

Linda, Amanda, and Deanne (friends from school) brought us dinner.
Jeff, Michelle, and Mae brought us dinner. Mae and Adelyn met for the first time.

Mae and Adelyn are a month apart, but almost the same size.

Papa has the magic touch- he can put any baby to sleep in minutes!
Emily is a great big cousin! She is so good with Adelyn!

Thomas holds Adelyn too. He's really sweet and likes to "love on her".
Randy brought me Rice for lunch one day. I missed sushi!
Seth gives Adelyn her first bottle
Jeff and Michelle came over for a Memorial Day weekend cookout.

Holding Mae is much different from holding Adelyn. Mae can hold her head up much better!

Adelyn Grace Thomas- Week One

Adelyn Grace Thomas was born Monday, May 11th at 4:14 pm. She weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 22 inches long. Adelyn is my maternal grandfather's sister. We learned  that Seth also has the name in his family (a great, great, great grandmother- prounounced "Adeline").

She had her first pediatrician appointment on Friday. She weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces then. She is in the 89th percentile for length, 48th percentile for head circumference, and 68th percentile for weight.

We have had visitors from family and friends. I can't say thank you enough to the people that have brought us food, gifts, clothes, and kind words! Seth's family and my family have been amazing!!

Seth and I feel like the luckiest parents in the world. She is healthy and (so far) easy to care for. I am nursing and that seems to be going well. She is not fussy. She makes the sweetest noises and funniest faces! We think she is perfect and truly a gift from God. I get choked up whenever I think about how much joy she brings to us. Everyone said we would feel an instant love for her. Love is not a strong enough word!

Melissa (Seth's sister) took some pictures right after Adelyn was born.

This sign greeted us when we pulled in our driveway!

Seth had pink roses waiting for me

We gave Adelyn her first bath. She cried, but did ok.

She has already found her thumb! We think she was doing this in the womb too.

Adelyn meets Riley and Peri

This is her bassinet that she sleeps in (right next to the bed). Seth slept in it when he was a baby too!

Seth had 2 races at Mosport (in Canada). He left Thursday afternoon and returned Sunday evening. Here she is in a Daddy Loves Me outfit. She loves the Papasan chair!
SCCA gave us this blanket. This side is all the flags waved during a race and the other side is a checkered flag. Here she is trying to hold up the #1 sign for Seth!

Adelyln LOVES being outside! I enjoy sitting on the deck with her. It's extremely relaxing just watching the scenery and appreciating all God has blessed us with. The video is her feeling the breeze. I couldn't capture it, but before she was also discovering her tongue and sticking it out!

Adelyn's first stroller ride

My parents came in town while Seth was gone. They were a tremendous help! Both sets of grandparents are mind readers. Seth's parents and my parents know exactly what we need and have been absolutely wonderful. We are fortunate to have all the help!

Here's how the first tummy time session went.
Here we are on Monday, May 18. Hard to believe a week has gone by!
