Taylor Swift: Stadium Tour

Taylor Swift concert tickets went on sale back in December. Laura and I bought tickets for the girls to give them for their birthdays (April and May). The concert was August 10th, so to say the anticipation and excitement had been building for a LONG time is an understatement!

Laura and Janie made a weekend out of it!

They came in town Thursday evening. The four of us got our nails done that evening.

On Friday, Adelyn had school and Laura had a work meeting, so Janie and I hung out at my house and she helped me clean out the playroom (always a good thing to do when your own kids aren't around, lol!)

On Friday evening, the four of us went to Vickery and had dinner

We all got ice cream afterwards

The girls ran around the grassy area

Laura went to FitBody with me. We came downstairs wearing the SAME outfits! Janie and Adelyn had been pretending to be twins so I guess we unintentionally followed suit. They made their names be Ivory and Avery

We had a little lunch picnic/ pool time

And then we were off to dinner and a show! Fay and Stephanie joined us

We ate at Unlce Julio's. For dessert, we had the chocolate piƱata. They batted the chocolate ball and fruit came out! Here's a video of how it works. SO COOL!

Laura and I ate here several times when we lived in Atlanta after graduating from college.

Girls walking in- so excited and cute!

Laura watched the girls while Stephanie and I checked out purses. We didn't know your purse had to be smaller than your hand or clear. Whoops.

Everyone received arm bands that had LED lights. The lights corresponded to the music. It was so cool to see the stadium lit up in synchronized colors and flashes

Our shirts say "Swiftie" and the girls' shirts say "Are you Ready for it?"

Love these ladies!

SO, so excited!

I'm so glad I got to experience Adelyn's first concert with her.

Besties since birth
Time of their lives!

Our seats were HORRIBLE. But it didn't matter!

Taylor Swift puts on quite a show! There was so much to see the entire concert. From flying across the stage to giant snakes, you just didn't know where to focus. She speaks positive messages to the girls (all about your reputation and the importance of finding friends that will back your reputation, have a good reputation, etc). I am now the BIGGEST Taylor Swift fan.

Welcome back to school

The kids went back to school Thursday August 2nd. Here's to a GREAT year!

Adelyn has Mrs. Durant for 4th grade

James has Mrs. Hall for 1st grade

They both came home with smiles and reports of a great first day! They both have sweet friends in their classes, and they got the teachers I was hoping for!

Praying it's a successful, safe, and FUN year!

Wrapping up summer

I feel like summers go by faster and faster! Swim team took over the bulk of June and then Seth and I were gone 11 days in July. All of a sudden there was just a little bit remaining of summer before school started! We tried to soak up the last little bit.

James went to Montana with Grandma, Grandpa, and Thomas. They left Monday, July 16 and came home the following Monday. It was kind of nice just having Adelyn. I'm not saying we didn't miss James, but one-on-one time is a definite bonus. To quote Adelyn, "I've waited seven years for this!!" LOL! I started a new job at our church as the Elementary Director (part time), so Adelyn came to work with me some but the rest of the time was pure fun!
She had Tatem spend the night one night and they each made 2 batches of SLIME! She also had Mae spend the night and we went to Aquatic Center

Adelyn and I went to visit Heather while she was at her parents' house. They live on Lake Martin in AL. It's so beautiful! We got there around lunch time and stayed Friday night until Saturday afternoon.
We went to a little wine tasting at a restaurant near her parents house. They also had live music and hula hoops.
 Adelyn loved this disc swing!
They celebrated Madison's 4th birthday a little early. She had a unicorn party
OMG, Noah is so darn cute! He makes this face when you say "cheese"
 I love Mr. Crawford!
Seth and I introduced Adelyn to a charcuterie board. She's a big fan
The kids earned FREE tickets to 6 Flags for logging their reading hours (read for 6 hours). I took them the Thursday before school started. We got there when the park opened at 10 a.m.
 Gold Rush

Adelyn was too tall to ride this superman tower but James liked it
 Mexican for lunch!
Scream Machine.... I can't believe James rode this. He hates roller coasters!
 3D Marvel
We hit the water park for a couple hours to cool off and had a BLAST! We bumped into some Cumming friends. Adelyn wanted to ride the super man roller coaster (it tilts your body so that you're parallel with the ground, flying like superman). Stephanie watched James and I took Adelyn and her son Ethan on it. I was the oldest person riding this ride! It was mostly teenagers! Adelyn is an adrenaline junkie
She wanted to ride Blue Hawk but James refused. So she rode it alone!
I mean.... look at those loops and twists!
We rode the sky buckets! We ended up staying until the park closed at 9 pm. I'd say we got our money's worth! SO, SO fun!
We took advantage of a Parents Night Out offered by Pinspiration. The kids did crafts, ate pizza, and watched a movie while the adults went out

Melissa and I at Secreto

Ice Cream afterwards
We went to a trampoline park. This is Fay and Adelyn
 And Donovan and James
Heather came up for some outlet shopping. :)
I hit my 100th FitBody Bootcamp class! Woo hoo!
Adelyn went to her first church camp! You have to have completed 3rd grade to attend and it was held the weekend after school started. She loved it

It was a great summer! Just too fast!
