Week 6

Adelyn had a big week! She went for her one month check-up and weighed 11 pounds 5 ounces (87th percentile for weight). She is 23 inches long (91st percentile) and her head is 15 inches (60th percentile....at her 2 week check-up her head circumference was only in the 11th percentile). Adelyn went on her first road trip to my parents' house in Tega Cay, SC. She also ventured up to Hickory, NC and met my grandmother. Seth celebrated his very first Father's Day. I feel so lucky to have a wonderful husband. He is such a great father to Adelyn. She just watches him and loves it when he talks to her. We had Adelyn dedicated at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Father's Day. It was the first time Adelyn had been to church, so we (well, Seth) introduced her to the congregation. Adelyn is starting to smile and hold it for a few seconds. It melts our hearts! Seth gets close to her face and sticks out his tongue or opens his mouth. She'll mimic him. He's already teaching her silly things! :)

Linda, Amanda, and Deanne came over for lunch with their kids. It was a fun afternoon with a house full of kids! (Deanne also has 2 kids that aren't in the picture)

She couldn't believe how long she is. She also couldn't believe my mom was a grandmother.

Week 5

Adelyn was one month old on Monday, June 11. We said from the beginning that she'd move to her nursery at that point. She has done great! I felt like she was so much older sleeping in her own room. I wasn't ready, even though she was. We have an Angelcare monitor that detects if she stops breathing and a video monitor so we can see her every move. It's really like she's still in the room with us! :)
Eveything is good....we're just getting into routine and watching her grow! Adelyn is staying awake more during the day. She loves to play on her tummy time mat, have someone talk/sing to her, or focus on different objects (usually a light or fan). She is such a sweet baby!

Adelyn's first night in her crib. We swaddle her at night.

She looks so little in her crib! (I can't get this picture to rotate)

Here's how she sleeps during the day in her crib. This child LOVES to stretch out!

Neel brought us chicken casserole!

Kyla brought Chic-fil-A for lunch

My parents came in town for the weekend. They were so happy to see her again!

Mom and I took long walks in the mornings

Seth and I went out to dinner and they stayed with her. It was lovely to have a night out just the two of us!

Mom gave Adelyn a bottle before we left

Week 4

It's hard to believe Adelyn is four weeks old! We are getting into a routine and enjoying every minute with her. She is still sleeping 5-7 hours each night, although she has had a couple fussy nights! She is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time. We are trying to keep her up as long as possible during the DAY so that she doesn't choose NIGHT for her awake time!

We had a lot of visitors last week! We have several friends that were due around the same time as us. It has been wonderful to meet the new babies. I love having friends that are also new moms. We have lots of notes to compare!

Rebecca stopped by on Monday. She ended up having her baby the next day!! Welcome Jenson Shaw Maume!! (6.2.09, 6 pounds 15 ounces, 20 inches)

Stacy (in town from Charleston)

Emma

Kate (in town from Charleston)

Adelyn held her bottle on her own. It's totally a fluke incident, but hey....

Laura (in town from Spartanburg). We were due around the same time. She came to visit Friday for the day and it was so much fun to finally get together!!

This is Janie Kate Myers (4.27.2009, 5 pounds 14 ounces, 17 1/2 inches). Adelyn would NOT wake for anything! This stretched out pose is how she loves to sleep!

On Saturday, Elizabeth brought Caroline (her almost 2 year old) and a delicious lunch.

Ken, Kathy, and Kristen brought cheesecake over Saturday afternoon.

Kristen (visiting from South Dakota)

Katie (and Brian) stopped by too!

Martha, Brenda, and Katie play with Adelyn. Seth and I had a wedding reception to attend Saturday night. Martha ("Aunt Mart Mart") babysat for us. This was our first night out together. It was nice- thank you, Martha!!

Hanging out on the deck....

Sunday dinner at Papa's....Adelyn got to experience her first ride on the workhorse. Seth will gradually have her in faster vehicles.

Bath time! She's about to outgrow the sink!
