James is 3 months old now and growing so much. Almost everyday I pull out an outift that no longer fits. This child is so sweet- he smiles and coos all the time. He wakes between 6 and 7 and I feed him again around 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm. The spitting up/projectile vomiting has pretty much stopped. The culprit? Dairy. I've had to eliminate dairy from my diet and it's made all the difference. It's hard not eating cheese and ice cream. Hopefully he'll grow out of this! Poor little guy....he'll probably never get to be on a sleep schedule like Adelyn was. He always gets a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon because that's when Adelyn takes her 2-3 hour nap. In the morning, he naps when he can and it's wherever we are. James still hasn't rolled over, but loves to lay on his back and bicycle kick like he's really going places. He naps on his tummy and sleeps at night swaddled on his back. He's laughed aloud a few times (zerberts on the belly or simply laughing aloud with him seem to be the trick). He acts like he's really having a conversation with you. He'll look in your eyes and "oooh" and "gaaah" over and over. His little voicec will get high pitched with excitement. So sweet! That red hair is starting to fall out! He's got a wicked widow's peak and bald spot in back. It gets thinner everyday and it's hard to tell what color the new hair will come in. I hope it stays red!
Adelyn is doing great! I really think school has been so good for her! She loves her teacher and is disappointed on non-school days. She came home on the second day and told me (and my mom) that she pushed. I emailed her teacher and sure enough, she pushed a little boy because she wanted his toy. Great start, Adelyn! At least she told me. She's also started going to church on Wednesday nights (Sunbeamers and Little Choir). She looks forward to that! Our big news is that she started potty training. I wasn't entirely sure when we'd do it, but Adelyn came down with a nasty cold and I figured since we were housebound, it's as good time as any. We're about a week and a half in and she's done awesome! The first day of school was a little rough, but now she'll use a potty anywhere. I'm so proud of her! It's funny how differently her clothes fit her without that bulky diaper!
We took James out of town or the first time (my parents' and Hickory). Taking James to meet my grandmother was very important to me and it was made even more special because all my aunts and uncles and most of my cousins also joined us for lunch. My mom came in town and we took James and Adelyn to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. This is an awesome day trip and perfect for adults and kids. We enjoyed the cooler temps and really had a great day! Seth finished his last race of the season at Mid Ohio. We were going to all go but that's when Adelyn got sick. I was looking forward to going to a race. I'm starting to tutor again- looking forward to working with elementary kids again and bringing in some extra cash! Speaking of extra cash, I'm trying Dave Ramsey's envelope system. It's interesting to track exactly where our money is spent and it's a great way to save money. Anybody had success with this?
Next up, Turner family beach trip and Thomas family Montana trip. Can't wait to go on vacation!! :)
